In fact, you often learn more from a set that goes sideways than from one where every joke lands. When the crowd laughs at everything, it’s hard to know what material is truly working. But if you have a rough set and a few bits still get solid laughs, that’s gold—those jokes are keepers. The key is to analyze your set honestly. Why did it bomb? Was the audience tired? Too small?
