Rob Reiner Tribute and More!

CELEBRATING 25 YEARS OF LAUGHTER & LEARNING!

ROB REINER

1947 - 2025

Rob Reiner’s influence on comedy and storytelling is immeasurable. From his iconic role as Michael “Meathead” Stivic on All in the Family to a legendary career behind the camera, he consistently blended intelligence, humanity, and fearless humor. As a director and writer, he created films now embedded in our culture— This Is Spinal Tap, The Princess Bride, When Harry Met Sally…, Stand by Me, Misery, A Few Good Men, and more — each a master class in tone, character, and heart. His work elevated comedy, drama, and satire, proving that stories can be both entertaining and deeply meaningful. Beyond film, his steadfast advocacy for democracy, civil rights, public health, and compassion reflects the same moral clarity that defines his art. We are deeply saddened, yet profoundly grateful, for a career that expanded what comedy could be and a legacy that will inspire generations to come.

When to Do Impersonations – Part 1

"Impersonations can be a powerful tool in your comedy arsenal, but only if you nail them. And I mean nail them. If your celebrity impression isn’t absolutely spot-on, it’s better to leave it out of your set. Audiences are forgiving with newer comics when it comes to jokes, storytelling, and general stage presence. They’ll compare you to other comics at your level. But impersonations? Different rules. The moment you attempt an impression, the audience instantly measures you against the very best in the business, the pros who’ve mastered those voices on TV, late-night shows, and specials. That’s a much higher bar, and audiences won’t hesitate to make the comparison. So choose your impersonations wisely, and only use the ones you can deliver with confidence and precision."

Stay tuned for Part 2!

CONGRATULATIONS, JIM GAFFIGAN!

Our friend Jim Gaffigan continues to make us proud -- and LAUGH! -- every time he graces our New Talent shows at Gotham with his trademark wit and generosity (he just marked his 40th appearance on Monday!). This year has been nothing short of extraordinary for Jim, being named one of Billboard’s Best 25 Comedians of the 21st Century, receiving Variety’s inaugural Comedy Vanguard Award at the New York Comedy Festival, and recently landing a feature on the front page of The Wall Street Journal’s Arts & Culture section. Somehow, amidst all of that, he even launched his own bourbon, Fathertime, all while keeping us doubled over with laughter every step of the way.

Congratulations again, Jim! Now get some rest!
